"What class type is most suitable for me?"First time doing Pilates or Yoga? We recommend our Reformer Essentials, Reformer Recovery, Mat Core Foundations, Mat Strength, Hatha Yoga & Restorative Yoga. First time in our studio but not the first time doing Pilates or Yoga? We recommend still trying our Reformer Essentials as a welcome into our space so we can get to know you and so you can get to know our style of teaching! Following this, all of the above classes are suitable as well as the additional classes such as Mat Power, Reformer Sculpt and Reformer Revival.

"How do I prepare for my first class at Tabletop?"Don't forget to bring a water bottle from home, a sweat towel and grippy socks. Grip socks are compulsory in all Mat & Reformer Pilates classes, if you do not have a pair at home, we have them available for purchase in the studio. Arrive 10 minutes early, especially if you're new to our space. Remove shoes and place them in the pigeon holes to the left of the entry. Check in at reception to ensure we know you have arrived to class. Note: Doors lock 5 minutes after class starts for safety and our own security, if you do not arrive before the door is locked, we are unable to stop the class in order for you to enter.

"I’m pregnant, can I attend classes post 16 weeks gestation?"The Founder of Tabletop Pilates practiced Pilates throughout her pre & post natal journey, so we value its benefits and prioritise safety in our space. Since every pregnancy is unique, we recommend that you consult your healthcare provider to confirm that Pilates and Yoga are suitable for you. Once cleared, please notify us to plan your first visit so we can recommend the best classes and instructors.
-
"I have an injury, can I still attend?"To ensure that everyone get's the most out of their class, we have a policy in place for attending with injuries. We are strong believers in that if there is a suitable modification available for your injury, then you are welcome to attend. Examples of modifications: We are able to modify planking on your forearms (low-plank) instead of weight bearing with your arms extended (high-plank). We are able to modify abdominal crunches with single-leg extensions by keeping your head rested during the exercise instead of keeping it lifted. If you're finding that you need a completely different exercise from the rest of the class, we may recommend booking a 1:1 session with our Founder. Alternatively, we may refer you to Clinical Pilates until your injury is more manageable to be comfortable enough to participate in a general group Pilates environment. Our trainers have the discretion to make this call if they feel it’s necessary.

"What are the age restrictions for participation?"Children under 14: Our Kids Yoga or Mums & Bubs class styles will have designated age groups and require parental supervision. The client will be restricted to specific classes, please contact with us prior to booking or purchase so we can get you booked in. Between the ages of 16-18: Minor must attend their first class with a parent or guardian who is over the age of 18, after which they may attend alone and a separate waiver will be signed by the clients parent or guardian.

-
"Can I bring my child to class?"For the safety of all participants and compliance with insurance policies, children are not permitted to attend or observe their parents' booked exercise classes unless the class is specifically designed for children or a parent-child dynamic, such as Kids Yoga or Mums and Bubs.
-
"What if there isn't a class time available to suit my schedule?"We take on all types of feedback when it comes to our timetable as this allows us to grow for our community. "What does the (P) mean?"This provides a quick visual to which classes are available to those who are in their pregnancy journey. These classes, marked with a (P) are available to women that are 16 weeks+ into their pregnancy, as well as those who are not pregnant.

"Why are grip socks compulsory?"Grippy socks are required in our studio for safety and hygiene purposes. They provide a safe gripping between the your body & our floors, Reformers and Mats and also act as a barrier between feet and our props. Regular socks aren't suitable. If you forget your grippy socks, they’re available for purchase in the studio. We suggest keeping an extra pair in your bag or car.
